FONDAZIONE SCRIPTORIUM FOROIULIENSE ETS

For more than 12 years now, Fondazione Scriptorium Foroiuliense ETS has been working to teach ancient writing, papermaking and book-binding techniques, including the reproduction of ancient illuminated manuscripts. The Foundation carries out these activities in close collaboration with the social services and the Centre for Mental Health of the Friuli Centrale local health authority, and this has opened up social reintegration and employment opportunities for dozens of people assisted by the Centre.

The premises of the Foundation are home to the Opificium Librorum, where our staff welcome thousands of visitors each year, guiding them through an ancient world, simply illustrated by those who have had the opportunity to integrate and demonstrate that culture is not only knowledge, but can also be a means to integration and a beacon of hope.
